big title for a big event

Krk, September 14th - We all waited for this all summer. On Saturday morning the air around organizers and staff was tense for it was clear we had one windy day coming. At around 10:30 Ladies qualifications started completely out of nowhere. No moderator, nor bibs, everybody asking- is this it? By the time 1st Heat for men had to begin we were putting things in place. Didi saved the day by taking the mike and starting to build the atmosphere which from that point on raised together with Bura- northern wind that produced unpleasant waves on the track and cooled both guests and riders. Nevertheless, by the end of the day we’ve seen a great competition, breathtaking jumps and falls, tons of emotions, and a whole lot of friendly people supporting competitors and having fun.

Finally, in Open Men category all the glory went to Bernhard Hinterberger who became The Champion of Croatia Open and of The Tour Overall. Kinga Horvath was the winner of Croatia Open, and Eva Koch of the Tour Overall for Open Ladies. Thanks to Snooker Club and Hotel Kanajt from Punat we had impressive fireworks at the prize giving ceremony, and then, the day to remember turned into a night to remember with a wild after party in Snooker.  The title of The girl of the day  went to our heroine Silvia who after two unlucky falls in the finals didn’t make the score we were all hoping for, and The man of the day was the one and only Didi. If there was a title for The man with no luck at all at this competition, it would most certainly go to Jan Sauer who first didn’t make it to the finals, then on Sunday morning almost got himself in trouble with the Croatian police, and later when he decided to forget all about it and make few more tricks, found his wakeboard missing. Man, we feel with you.
